The vector is initialized to 1024 entries which is guaranteed to be
enough, but as its size can shrink between calls, make sure ASan is
aware of the expected size before using it.

l2-flood and bier nodes reset vector length without updating it to its
effective size. Introduce a helper to do it (this allows ASAN to keep
track of the new vector size).

vppapigen has remapped legacy to typedefs behind the scenes
for some time now.
- update .api files to use new style typedefs.
- issue error on 'typeonly define' in .api files
- remove unneeded macros redefining vl_noop_handler

Since vlib_buffer_copy() and vlib_buffer_clone() both preserve
VLIB_BUFFER_IS_TRACED bit in flags field, it should also copy
trace_handle which would add minimal overhead. Thus, callers of
these functions do not have to call vlib_buffer_copy_trace_flags()
to copy trace_handle.

Enhance the route add/del APIs to take a set of paths rather than just one.
Most unicast routing protocols calcualte all the available paths in one
run of the algorithm so updating all the paths at once is beneficial for the client.
two knobs control the behaviour:
is_multipath - if set the the set of paths passed will be added to those
that already exist, otherwise the set will replace them.
is_add - add or remove the set
is_add=0, is_multipath=1 and an empty set, results in deleting the route.
It is also considerably faster to add multiple paths at once, than one at a time:
vat# ip_add_del_route 1.1.1.1/32 count 100000 multipath via 10.10.10.11
100000 routes in .572240 secs, 174751.80 routes/sec
vat# ip_add_del_route 1.1.1.1/32 count 100000 multipath via 10.10.10.12
100000 routes in .528383 secs, 189256.54 routes/sec
vat# ip_add_del_route 1.1.1.1/32 count 100000 multipath via 10.10.10.13

vat# ip_add_del_route 1.1.1.1/32 count 100000 multipath via 10.10.10.14

-fno-common makes sure we do not have multiple declarations of the same
global symbol across compilation units. It helps debug nasty linkage
bugs by guaranteeing that all reference to a global symbol use the same
underlying object.
It also helps avoiding benign mistakes such as declaring enum as global
objects instead of types in headers (hence the minor fixes scattered
across the source).

change the ADD api so that is returns the 'ID' that can be used
by the client to read the stats from the stats segment and to
delete the object. Previously a similar value used required
to be chosen by the client, now VPP allocates one (like it
does e.g. for interfaces)

Object sizes must evenly divide alignment requests, or vice
versa. Otherwise, only the first object will be aligned as
requested.
Three choices: add CLIB_CACHE_LINE_ALIGN_MARK(align_me) at
the end of structures, manually pad to an even divisor or multiple of
the alignment request, or use plain vectors/pools.
static assert for enforcement.

The interpose source allows the source/provider to insert/interpose
a DPO in the forwarding chain of the FIB entry ahead of the forwarding
provided by the next best source. For example if the API source (i.e
the 'control plane') has provided an adjacency for forwarding, then
an interpose source (e.g. a monitoring service) couold interpose a
replicatte DPO to copy the traffic to another location AND forward
using the API's adjacency.
To use the interose feature an existing source (i.e FIB_SOURCE_PLUGIN_HI)
cn specifiy as a flag FIB_ENTRY_FLAG_INTERPOSE and provide a DPO to
interpose. One might also consider using interpose in conjunction with
FIB_ENTRY_FLAG_COVER_INHERIT to ensure the interpose object affects
all prefixes in the sub-tree.

- API changes in MPLS, BIER and IP are involved
- new DPO [sub] types for MPLS labels to handle the two modes.

This is a version of the VPP API generator in Python PLY. It supports
the existing language, and has a plugin architecture for generators.
Currently C and JSON are supported.
Changes:
- vl_api_version to option version = "major.minor.patch"
- enum support
- Added error checking and reporting
- import support (removed the C pre-processor)
- services (tying request/reply together)
Version:
option version = "1.0.0";
Enum:
enum colours {
RED,
BLUE = 50,
};
define foo {
vl_api_colours_t colours;
};
Services:
service {
rpc foo returns foo_reply;
rpc foo_dump returns stream foo_details;
rpc want_stats returns want_stats_reply
events ip4_counters, ip6_counters;
};
Future planned features:
- unions
- bool, text
- array support (including length)
- proto3 output plugin
- Refactor C/C++ generator as a plugin
- Refactor Java generator as a plugin

updated.
